Romeo and Juliet Discussion 1: Love

Since one of the biggest issues in Romeo and Juliet is love, we should talk about it some. You can answer one, some, or all of the following questions, or you can address the topic in a way I haven't.

What is love? What does it look like?

What kinds of love are out there?

Do men and women think of love differently?

Does romantic love at first sight exist?

Can teenagers feel true love?

What are the different ways we use the word "love"?

Has the word lost its meaning by overuse?

Love is the intense, ardent feeling for something close. True love is just a fantasy, a wishful dream. If /true/ love was true in any sense, we wouldn't have majority of our problems today. no one can learn to except everyone for /every/thing. Love and true love have very disparate meanings. Within every smile is a frown.

In my opinion, love is a feeling of warm personal attatchement, whether it be to a person, or to an object, love can be infinate. There are several kinds of love in the world: some are just to objects that we like alot, others are to people or partners we care about. I think love at first sight is based on appearance only, you can't really know a person based on appearance- so how can you love them? But, they say that the eyes are the windows to the soul, so i guess you could tell if the person is good or bad. I don't think love has lost its meaning due to overuse because there are simply many definitions of the word and because love doesn't just have to be relationship-wise, it can also be used as a substitution for like. For example, "I love vitamin water." Love just has too many meanings.
